4-storey building collapses in Yaba, Lagos

           

Residents of Sabo Yaba area of Lagos state are in a state of shock and lament after a building collapsed with Seven people escaping death.



The General Manager of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Michael Akindele, confirmed the incident, adding that two other buildings were affected.He said, “It is a four-storey building which is under construction. It collapsed at about 2.30pm. Our men got there within 15 minutes of the incident. There is no casualty and nobody has been trapped.“About two other buildings, which surround the place, have been affected, and we are also working on that too.”The spokesperson for the National Emergency Management Agency, South West zone, Ibrahim Farinloye, said work was ongoing at the site to evacuate the debris..More pictures below
